This originally French variety<\/strong> was recovered in the Rioja region in 1991 and arrived here though the Santiago Way pilgrimage route. Valdebil is a place name that means \u201cvalley for hiking\u201d (“Vald -ibili”), a clear reference to the passage of pilgrims through the area.<\/p>\n

The landscape is continually changing, shaped by the environment and human interventions. The Maturana variety is an opportunity provided by nature and history that we have decided to benefit from. The goal of this wine is its constant evolution.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nOF THE LANDSCAPE[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text el_class=”loscientotrenta”]This unique plot is planted on the terraces and slopes at an altitude of 540 m<\/strong> above sea level with a south-east orientation. The morning sunshine causes the thin skin of the Maturana grape to slowly ripen. The young roots penetrate the structure of the ground, allowing the plant to supply itself with the few nutrients available in these poor soils and give the grapes what they need for their full ripening. The grapes are harvested<\/strong> in 15 kg crates at the end of September.
