THE VINEYARDS
LANDSCAPE
THE
TEMPRANILLO
OF THE ALAVA
RIOJA REGION
The landscape is what man sees, works and shapes as time passes; it is the sum of nature and culture. We are inhabitants and we have the responsibility to live in balance and harmony with our environment. In the triangle comprised by Yécora, Viñaspre and Lanciego, the hillsides with grain, the small holm oak groves, scattered oak copses and little streams are laid out under the shelter of the mountain range.
The old vineyard resists and coexists with new plantations, where we want to rehabilitate the environment by building walls and planting trees to enhance its beauty. Our main goal is to make unique wines that embody the essence of our territory.
LOS SOILS
We want to maintain and explore the wine-growing legacy in an exceptional area where geographical features have formed small plots of clay-limestone soils, loams and clays from the mountains as well as alluvial material from erosion and sedimentation.

THE CLIMATE

We are located at an average altitude of 650 metres above sea level, where the weather conditions are highly variable. It frequently snows in winter, with temperatures below zero, in stark contrast with hot dry summers. These extreme temperature variations condition the character of our wines.
